In light of the Coronavirus pandemic and recent government guidance VISS has put in place a system by which services will resume albeit in a modified form.

The services of communication professionals can still be requested and booked by calling: 07890 962 898 or email: , and where possible services would be delivered remotely using video technologies such as FaceTime, WhatsApp or Skype. This is to reduce the amount of social contact and thus limit the risk for spreading infection amongst our own interpreting staff, provider staff, the deaf community and wider public.

From Monday 24 March the office will close until further notice and staff will be working remotely. Bookings will still be coordinated by using the usual contact details and interpreters will be allocated jobs on a remote bases too. This will take the form of workers contacting interpreters on a designated phone number, the interpreter will then contact the BSL user via video communication systems such as FaceTime, WhatsApp etc. and appointments will be conducted in real-time.

We are confident that this will be a workable solution enabling ourselves and your organisation to continue operating during this disruption.
